Younger folks might think that the frontpage-mentioned influencers are dismissable and only ‘woke for their times.’ Sure, by TikTok standards.
TikTok seems to hypnotize younger generations while caring little about the meaning of life. “We give them what they want,” TikTok says in excuse. Fair enough. But then TikTok gives them what it wants them to want. Thus, TikTok and its copycats are not helpful, they are symptoms of humans’ inner lack and unquenchable desire. Yes, a human need can be satisfied, but one’s inner lack and desire cannot − certainly not by TikTok.

However, pessimists and optimists alike seem to hunger for recognition. And social media has become a playground for people to appear and become ‘recognized’ influencers, seducing gazillions of followers.
In other words, stay away from TikTok. It’s a waste of your time. Go and read a good book.
